No one will study abroad in 2026?!

2026 could be the first year when the study abroad industry is going to collapse — and I am not exaggerating.
There are so many factors right now. Starting from the Trump administration — they have incorporated so many new rules. They are now going after H1B. They are talking about changes to the OPT for student visas. For bachelor’s students — international students — they have set a 15% cap, and no more than 5% can come from any one country. Many rules have been imposed.

And if we talk about the UK — in the UK they are talking about increasing the ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) time, meaning you won’t even get permanent residence. You’ll have to renew your visa every 10 years. They might completely abolish ILR. They already don’t allow you to bring dependents — you’ll remember, that started last year. And the salary requirements, English requirements — everything is being increased. If you want permanent residence, all these things make the UK’s outlook very unstable.

And then there’s Canada. Canada has already set a limit — a quota for how many international students can come in a year. Beyond that limit, no matter how many apply, visas will not be issued. In fact, if you see the latest news — 85% of Indian students who have applied this year so far have been rejected by Canadian study visas.

Australia — which has now moved India from risk level 3 to level 2 — has caused influencers and educational consultants to go crazy. They’re telling students you don’t need IELTS, you don’t need financial proof, just apply, Australia is taking everyone. But they are not telling you how. They’re not telling you that along with that, Australia has introduced the new GSR requirement — Genuine Student Requirement.

That’s a test where they’ll check your full background — are you a genuine student? Have you studied the same subject before? Why do you want to study in Australia? Every single thing will be checked — whether you have financials, IELTS, or not. All of this will be checked at the final stage. And agents already know that maybe only 1 out of 50 students will get a visa if things continue like this.

But still, people don’t understand that Australia has also capped international students — only 295,000 students will be allowed this year. Even if 1 million apply, 700,000 will face rejection. And why? Because of the GSR requirement.

So here comes a big reality check for you — is studying abroad even a viable option anymore? Should anyone even go abroad to study in 2025 or 2026? Because at the end of the day, we are spending our parents’ lifetime savings — taking loans — and then going abroad where we can’t even find jobs. Policies are so against us at this point.

Obviously, it makes people think — maybe studying abroad is not for us anymore.

So — will no one study abroad in 2026?
Not really. Some people will still study abroad. But it’s going to be much harder — especially for the average applicant.

The applicant who goes to that small neighborhood educational consultant — you know the type — who has tie-ups with Tier 3 schools in the U.S. and sends students there. Until now, visas were getting approved for them. But not anymore.

And I think people are going to learn this the hard way.

We all know this era feels as bad as a recession. Gold prices are extremely high, markets are at all-time highs, stocks, shares, real estate — everything is high. Whenever everything is high together, it represents a bubble. And even Sam Altman has said that because of AI, the market definitely has a bubble. So we can expect a recession right around the corner.

In fact, we are already in one at this point. Students are going abroad but not getting sponsorships, not getting jobs.

But — in every recession, there is an opportunity. Every recession marks a special time when money flows from one party to another. Some people get extremely rich, while others remain poor. Understand this, guys — this time represents an opportunity.

All around the world, universities — especially in the U.S. and Canada — where international students, particularly Indian students, used to go in large numbers — these universities are now suffering.

They don’t have money anymore. Because international students used to pay 2x or 3x the tuition fee of domestic students. And today, universities are starting to prefer domestic students more. International student visas are not being issued, their revenue is going down.

And as a result — you can see the news — universities are laying off professors and full-time staff. They’re not hiring new people. Why? Because there simply isn’t enough money flowing in for them to do so.

And by the way, it’s not just international students — even the federal funding that universities depended on from the government — that has now stopped too. Without international students and federal funding, you can imagine the financial condition of these universities.

But this is where you come in — understanding the opportunity.

If you apply to study abroad in 2026 — think about it for a moment — I know it sounds strange — but if you do that, and if you get into a really good-quality school, you know why you can? Because competition is at an all-time low.

I can tell you — we apply for thousands of students every year to study overseas, and we’ve seen a major difference: far fewer students are going abroad to study this year compared to before.

We also have a batch for working abroad, for direct PR abroad, and right now more people are choosing that.

But this means lower competition and higher scholarships available — because universities are desperate.

They’ll give you scholarships — and even after scholarships, sometimes you’ll still pay more than domestic students — but that’s fine, because there’s low competition and universities are desperate.

So this is what we need to capitalize on.

If you wait one or two years, the situation might change. But you want to capitalize today.

Especially if you are going to top universities — top 10% or top 20% in any country — the return on investment is still there.

There are still pathways through which you can go to the U.S., Canada, the UK, or Australia — and still get PR, no matter the political instability.

If you are going to the top 10% or top 20 universities in any country, I know for a fact that I have a pathway for you through which you can get PR — no matter which country you go to.

So make sure you have a strong profile, strong SOP, strong application.
You don’t need GRE, but yes — take an English test like TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE — at least one as a minimum.

And I can even guide you later on how to get PR in whichever country you choose.

It shouldn’t happen that you go abroad without a plan.

We can sit down one-on-one — I can have a whole session telling you exactly which country is best for your case, and it can differ from person to person.

And how you can go from study abroad to PR — the full 5-step path can still be mapped today.
